M1 Crab Nebula in narrow band color

 

Date: 25 and 26 October 2003, hazy night

Telescope: Celestron 8” SCT with stabilized mirror, on Gemini G-41 mount

Guiding: ST-4 Autoguider with Celestron C80, 80mm F11 refractor piggybacked on C8.

Camera: Genesis KAF-1602E with USB interface, and 34mm Astronomik Filterwheel

Exposure:

Red: Astronomik H-alpha filter 15x20mins

        Green and Blue: Astronomik O-III filter 5x20mins

        So the RGB channels are HOO

Location: Tai Mei Tuk, Hong Kong

Software: Image acquisition by MaximDL, calibration by AIP4win, sigma-combined by Sigma, R-L deconvolution and smooth background by AIP4win, gradient removal by Chris Icough’s plugin in Astroart, RGB combineand final brightness adjustment by Astroart.

 

This is the same data using H-alpha for Luminence in LRGB combination, so this is HHOO colors!
